Surf photos and feature stories = Freedom Run

Postby joz76 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:48 pm

Have a look at my new surf/travel photography website brothers and sisters of the Ocean:

http://www.freedomrun.net

I'm not selling anything - I'm just wanting to share my travel and surf photography web site with you guys. I'm only doing it to give people the stoke to surf and travel - so forum moderators, how about not deleting it, huh? Check out the site and you'll see there's no way I make money off it by getting people to visit - I just want to share my work with people who'll appreciate it.

Peace.

Joz,
This sort of post is against the forum rules as you have obviously realised. Have you any idea just how many of these one off, self promotion posts we get? It's easier to post away than to have the courtesy of contacting us first, or even contribute to this site in some way by posting some of your photos here or in our surf photo section. No doubt, like other posters who do this sort of thing, you'll never be seen here again (unless to drop some more links).

All the best with you new website.

Fair enough Surf Patrol. The thing is, I'm actually sharing content that is exactly what visitors to your forum are interested in finding. There's no commercial component to my website. I don't make a single cent from getting visitors to visit my site. I only do this for the stoke of other surfers.

Other surf forums have less strict rules about the sort of post I make. I had no idea that a well-intentioned, useful, interesting, highly-related and high-quality link such as the one I'm posting was against your rules. I certainly don't consider it spamming. And I won't repeat my post now that you've made me aware of your specific rules.

How could I contribute my work to your site in such a way to keep you happy and drive a few visitors to my site?

Cheers for your reply
Joz
