Please help newbie member sort surfing holiday destination

Hello fellow surfers,

I am a newbie to this forum, but have been surfing for a good few years.

I am planning a holiday with my girlfriend this summer and i wanted to combine her beach addiction, with my surfing addiction. Sunbathing is so boring!

So, please can you give me some suggestions as to what you think the best value surf spots are? Im thinking Europe really, abroad too, away from the U.K. I would like it to be as nice as possible, for as cheap as possible, hot & sunny, and i would like to stay at a hotel/apartment/villa on the beach, as i dont drive. Somewhere not too touristy, and with local bars, shops and things to see preferably, but these factors are not a priority. If anyone has any particular places that they can recommend, then that would be great. Also, somewhere with reliable waves would be ideal, although i know that you can never guarantee these things.

Please help as im slightly clueless. I've only ever surfed in the U.K,

Thanks,

Mat

south of France would be a good starter, but can be flat in summer, or Lanzarote (famara beach),although ive never been in summer........or if you want to risk some flat days, Ireland is a favorite of mine (west coast) great people over there. all cheapish Matt.
