They are horrible and will rip you off. Just remember that the THIEVERY here is worse than you can possibly imagine. Extremely bad. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. :blah: The country is beautiful, surf is great, chicks are mega hot, and the Thieves are blatant, and out of control Don't expect help from the Police as they are a complete joke.

True advice - Thx for giving us 'hard workers to be surfers' the lowdown: Very much appreciated indeed,

I have heard about that place a lot and want to say that people out there helpful cause they know the consequences . We took the truck rental company to move in the forests and must say that it was really a horrible but excited journey of my life..

I taught my Girlfriend a few lessons at Jaco beach, the whitewash there was perfect for her to learn in, it was gentle and about waist deep, so she could just walk out and practice for hours and the water was ridiculously warm, then at low tide there are some pretty epic waves breaking too which my buddy and i were able to surf and have alot of fun.

loads of places to rent boards from there, everything from softboards for learners, to shortboards, longboards and SUPS. cost me about $12 for a half day rental but all the rental places insisted on either a drivers license or passport being put down as a deposit, so i recommend bringing the DL as an ID rather than the passport

Hope the info helps and enjoy the trip

OMG it's a multilingual Troll I think it's Dutch this time , but assuming the troll is male he is not bright enough to post in the language of the forum or at least Spanish for Costa Rica
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
