Relocating to Australia

Postby flodad » Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:32 pm

My family is currently living in the mountains of Colorado, USA. I have an opportunity to relocate to the APJ region (specifically Australia or Singapore). The reason Im posting to a surf site is that my 14yr old son tried surfing at Hunington Beach this summer and loved it. So Im looking for suggestions on the best places to live, where my son can learn to surf and have a great experience.

Almost anywhere will do

East coast Oz is probably your best bet for the surf/work balance. Sydney and NSW being the obvious choice. Parts of queensland also, but brisbane, for instance, is not right next to a surfing coast. Ditto melbourne.

So you're changing countries so your lad can learn to surf - top bit of parenting there, well done

Indeed a good move! I'm personally looking forward to move to Australia (to study) too and have a friend that is already there, studying. I've researched quiet a bit and spoke with him and what not, and pretty much ended up deciding to go study in Queensland while residing around Coolangatta. There's a good amount of great Universities and right next to the hot surfing spots. :)
