Forgetting what a wave over 2' looks like.
Suppose to get another south swell from the TS developing by Baja and some south energy from around NZ
Can't wait. Over this flat spell.

just got back from a trip to norcal where i surfed a place called "bolinas" in marin county, apparantly its ultra ultra sharky there  . Anyways the waves were absolute rubbish, water was freezing cold, and it was god awfully windy and thats supposed to be an average day LOL still managed a few fun rides in the mush and the scenery is awesome. Glad i surfed it and very glad i wasnt on sharkies menu

well, today was the first time out in 3 or 4 weeks, and it was suprisingly fun. im up in cape cod for a week, and i hit up whitecrest beach in wellfleet, it was small, so i used my longboard mostly, but i pulled out the short board for a few. it averaged about a foot today, some were up to 2, and the wave of the day was at the most 3. small, but it was super fun.

i was in NC at a really crappy break (whats the beach thats super over populated and is like a super big tourist destination? idk anyway) it was like the best day that they had had in... well... ever. haha it was like 3 feet and hollow like 15 feet off shore, i just beefed and beefed, and tried to save my board from the beach. i got 2 solid rides in but it was just the wierdest surf i had ever been in. there were a total of 3 people out for as far as i could see, and they werent having any more success than me, but it was a relatively fun time on the water.

Tourist beach in NC? Probably Nags Head... but head to Hattaras and you can find some good breaks and no crowds.. bring your 4x4 to get away from tourist! Was down there in Hattaras last week (third beach entrance past Rodanthe). great waves and fun times!

I surfed some 1-2 foot waves (maybe 3 foot if I wished for it). Some fun times and good chats with the bros in the waves..... hopefully the tropical storm surfline.com is tracking will head my way for a change in waves...

East coast US is about to set off this weekend! Overhead to D overhead @ 17 sec according to Swell Info. Unheard of around here except for the Outer Banks. Just hoping this will not be a huge close out session. Should be a good weekend to check out the surf cams up and down the East coast.

Yea Myrtle Beach is the Redneck Riviera. Way over crowded beaches sporting their Budweiser swim trunks and a Sponge Bob boogie board. Like everywhere else, there are better surf spots around. Its not as nice as Cocoa Beach, but you dont have the over crowded lineups or localism to deal with.

Im heading down to Apopka in a few weeks (trying to sell my grandmothers house) then heading to Cocoa to visit my dad and do some surfing & fishing.

Very unusually, it was flat in Sydney first thing this morning, but some new swell arrived this afternoon accompanied by some wind, so I shot down the road to maroubra.

Small waves, onshore winds, whitewater to paddle through.... jeez, it was like surfing back home all over again

I'll see the scene:
It's Friday night, my surf buddy and another friend of ours are having a few beers at my place. My surf buddy and I are planning on getting up early for what would be a fairly average onshore wind swept surf. Ohwell...beats nothing. We all hit the piss, head to the casino and start winning some bulk cash. My mates are both crapping on about us having to hit the strip joint, get some chicks, get laid and party all through the weekend. I decide to be the party pooper and after MUCH convincing I manage to get my surf mate to come home at about 3.30am in the morning. I force him awake at 6am so we can go check out the surf. Sitting on my bed with a bit of a hangover and a cup of tea I check the swell report on my phone. 3 foot swell, zero wind to light offshore wind. We're stoked! Better than we thought. Anyhoo, we hit the beach at about 7am and spend the next 5 hours on the most picture perfect hottest little white sand beach barrels you've ever seen and it's bright blue sky all day.
Guess I made the right choice at the casino to bail....a few hundred dollars up too :)

There's an even better surf predicted for tomorrow morning (7.40pm here) and I'm faaarken amped.

went out at jaco beach, costa rica last week, low tide, closing out after a few seconds and only 3 feet, with the occasional bigger set that was rid3eable for all of 5 seconds..... everything sucked exept for my girlfriend managing to catch some whitewater waves all by herself, no help and riding them all the way to the beach...awesome job babe, ill see you out back with us soon! keep practicing!

Yeah, just think about what you do as a surfer. Appreciate the curves of the wave face and the breeze rolling over miles of ocean and the post-ride smile stretched across your face. That's the truth. Even the jittery fear of submerged rocks in shadowy water and shark attacks make you happy on the inside. Happiness is that sense that you are truly alive and truly a surfer.

Last session: Yesterday, stomach to chest high, pretty windy. Water temp 13 degrees Celsius, Air temp 7 degrees.
A bit soon for the 4/3. Real choppy, but still good to get out, especially on a weekday.
Skipped out on work early, boss not too happy, but fuke it eh?
Leaving for Indo in 5 days, 16 hours and 33 minutes. Cheeeeehooo!
Sorry, not to rub it in, just pumped. Cheeehooooo!
Cool thread btw!
