clueless girlfriend trying to book surfing holiday 30th

Postby harkin » Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:13 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to book a surprise holiday in the third week of November for the other halfs 30th birthday. He has lived in Newquay for the last 5 years until recently and really loves surfing so I really want to get somewhere where he get out on a board and have fun.

However.......

I've heard him say things about the right and wrong types of waves and the fact that he wouldn't be able to surf the big waves in places like the canary islands.

Is there a place in the world anywhere which has Newquay summer type waves in November which is also hot and lovely?

I'm really sorry if I have asked a ridiculously simple question but I'd hate to book something and for him not to be able to surf there.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance,

x

Anywhere in the southern hemisphere will have summer waves in November.
What's your budget like?

Somewhere in South America would seem the obvious choice. Costa Rica maybe.

I'm not looking at paying over a grand really and after doing my research it looks like its going to be the flights which are going to be all the money.

Morroco seems to be reasonable for flights?

I'm tempted just to remove the surprose section of the present then I won't get the place wrong when it comes to the correct surf

Morocco or the Canaries should be fine, cheap..ish flights, nice weather and waves galore!
