Beto surfboards

Has anyone ever heard of these boards? Are they any good? Are they fiberglass? They seem to be priced at a too good to be true value.

They have all kinds of shapes and sizes. The longboards look good and your right they're affordable. But W/O saying all airbrushed boards are pop outs I've seen tons of airbrushed boards exactly like these that are mass produced Chinese pop outs. Not sure if these guys are legit by any means. If I lived in the L.A. area I'd go check them out. But I dont. If you do end up getting one make sure to post up about it. Which one where you looking at anyway? I hope someone else posts with some experience. GL

The board are really nice. I do not know this brand, and I have no news about it . However, with regard to price, I was in

Fuerteventura for some time, and for $ 325 = 280 euro, the local shaper you made a short high quality . I do not know how

the market in California, where is this brand, but I think that prices do not change much..

REALLY LIKE THESE BOARDS...I'm from LA, CA and I bought a Beto 7'6" funboard on Craigslist for slow, mushy, and cruzing days and I beat out a lot of longboarders to the wave and because it's got a double concave at the tail it goes fast and can do slow but steady long turns (no snaps). I got it super cheap $325 brand new and it's well worth it for all the board you get. I also ride the Beto 5'10" hybrid fish for fast hollow days and it can hold steady in hollow inside barrels 3-5ft and is super responsive when you hit the lip. I got it brand new for $250. If you wanna stack your quiver with an arsenal of good quality boards and spend half the money, Beto's are what I suggest.

Ok, so now does anyone have any opinion on these boards that obviously doesn't work at Beto. Because the previous poster, uhhh, well let's just say he was a little too excited and waaaay too descriptive about his wonderful magical experience with Beto. Jeez, I think he even quoted stuff exactly ass it appears on their website. C'mon dude!

So I actually bought one of these, probably from the previous poster. If it's the same guy that posts on Craigslist in LA named Jay I wouldn't be surprised. That being said, he was pretty excited about surfing and was really helpful in me choosing the right board, and because of this I'm not surprised his post would come across as a sales pitch.

On to the board... I have no idea what a double concave is but I bought a 7'2" BETO-8 and am really pleased with my purchase.

It's my first surfboard and I had a couple options... Used board, expensive board from a shop, Costco foam board or this... I didn't want a used board and I was on a budget, so that ruled out the shop options... A buddy has a Costco foam board and I feel like I'd grow out of it too fast. So I went this option...

I get the board out 3 or 4 times a week and think I made the right choice. It's stable, fast and very easy to paddle out with. I've had some friends try it and they think it's a pretty good board. Since I'm fairly new to surfing I'm not sure what else to say, but feel free to ask questions and I'll see if I can answer...

No, I'm not a douchebag, it's just that a lot of the time someone will google the name of their own board brand, and post saying how great it is. If you're not doing this, I apologize, but it has happened a lot before.

I think because these boards are only $300 bucks they are naturally going to attract beginners. I did some research first before I bought the board and I'm not sure that they fit the definition of a pop-out. My understanding that a pop out is molded and then has a heavy layer of fiberglass. My board has a light layer of fiberglass - I've already got a bunch of pressure dents from my head (LOL) and has initials with the dimensions on the back. Could just be a gimmick, but I've read that some companies in China are using very low paid shapers for their boards.

I have very little to compare it with and don't have the skill yet to be able to judge how good the board is, I can only give my experience with it so far. So was the Beto made by a surf artisan? No... As a beginner, am I happy with it? Yes... I won't know if it's good for someone with a bit of experience until next summer...

Id be very weary of buying any surfboard unless i could be assured of quality or at least of reputation.

The boards at my local surf shop dont seem like POP out boards either. They are really lighty weight but have a quaility feel
They are like NSP boards but on a comparision basis they are better
The brands name i see alot of are
Southern Swell & Mission
a 7"2 board for either will cost around £250 (New with fins and wax) Which seems pretty good

Hey I found this forum because I searched for beto surfboards or w/e
I think I'm gonna buy one of the hybrid fishes because I've wanted a fish for a while
I'm going to check it out tomorrow
I've read all the comments here and the only people with any experience with this guys stuff sound like a commercial
I really hope it's worth my time because I live about an hour away from this guy
anyways I'm probably going to get it because I offered 200 bucks and he took it and for a new board 200 dollars is a slamming deal even if it is a piece of crap
I'll pos about it on Tuesday because I'm checking it out and them I'll tell you guys about how it rides after I take it out later this week (I'm so sad I missed the huge swell this weekend)

Ok so I bought the board today
the guy (jay) was super chill
he said the shaper is from el Salvador
the boardblooks nice and feels pretty solid
I'm gonna take it out Saturday morning maybe depending on how the swell is looking
I'll post about how it rides after I get some experience with it

Tomorrow I'm going to go check out an 8'2'' from Jay. It looks like a nice board for $300. By the weekend I'll post and let you all know how it is. I don't longboard much, I use a 6'0'' Brog fish which I love, but I have a good feel for boards. Hoping to catch all the sloppy Manhattan afternoon sets. We'll see.

I went to San Clemente instead and I was dissapointed to find that my first time taking it it out in2-3 foot surf the nose already chipped and the foam is exposed

I paddled out in Manhattan today and the 8'2 i got was really fun. Caught just about everything. I think it was quite a good buy. I enjoy it a ton.

Just thought is give another update
I've taken the board out probably around 10 times so far and the thing rides like a champ
the one problem I'm having with it is that the glass seems pretty week
i already have some cracks on the bottom near the back fin
and my friend has the 5'6 semi fish version and just recently put a huge hole through the top with his knee after falling on a close out at San Clemente
he fell pretty hard though so I don't really blame that one on the board
my final verdict is that it's a sweet board but I wish the glass was a little stronger
