11' longboard on a miata! possible?

Postby JOKAJEM » Sat Jul 11, 2009 7:00 pm

hey guys, i am new here. have you guys ever tried to strap your longboards (over 10' in my case 11') on a two door car like miata? I have the hard top for the car too and i used to put my 8' on a soft rack and go surfing, but now i got 11' longboard and not sure if soft rack will hold it in freeway. please advise.

Yes you'll be fine provided that you have an extra line from one end of the board down to the front bumper area at the front of the car, this will prevent oscillation. A line front and rear as ideal

Hey, I heard of a saint bernard & chihuahua mix, so anything is possible.

I have seen a roof rack full of kayaks lift off the roof, stripping the fixings, and land a dozen yards away in a field !

The ties to the bumpers front and back are an excellent suggestion.
