my new log

Postby twerked » Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:19 pm

so i just got my new longboard today. my shaper said it would take 3 weeks to get done, i got it in less than 2 weeks. so i'm super stoked. it's a pretty standard 9'0" noserider, with slight modifications. obviously, a more performance style nose, but i also got the rails thinned out a bit. slight single concave in the nose, double concave in front of the fin box, out to a slight vee. can't wait to take her out tomorrow. i'm a bit worn out from working 3 straight doubles, and spending most all day fixing my car.

she rides nice. if the surf wasn't so crappy and the water so cold, it would've been much more enjoyable. easy to paddle, trim, cross step. the only issue was it was too loose, i had the fin the whole way forward in the finbox, and i didn't have a screwdriver in my car to move the fin back. but i adjusted it when i got home, i might go out today and see how she rides now. but i love it. paddling around and riding it, it feels shorter than a 9 footer, maneuverability wise.

haha, sorry, works been crazy lately. had an aca instructor/trip leader cert class (level 2 coastal kayak instructor and trip leader certified now :woot: ). board is fun as hell. does everything i had hoped it to. i'm thinking about either replacing my retro fish quad with another one from the shaper, or a 6' 6"ish single fin

hopefully i'll have some photos of me on it sometime. took the quad out for the first time this year yesterday and the first few rides were pretty awkward. going from 9'0" to 5'6" is kind of weird

yeah..i was gonna have some pics, but i dropped my camera in the creek where i lead kayak tours. so until we get some real hard northeast winds to empty out the sounds, i probably won't be getting that back anytime soon. it is a water proof camera, but i don't think it's meant to stay submerged for weeks/months...

next time i'm out on it with some friends i'll try to get someone to snag some pictures

yeah, i know i know...tryin to get somebody to take some pics. been on the fish a lot lately. been choppy/mushy and better suited towards that.

pauly: it's a 'fibre glas fin co, 'flex' 9"' fin. i just went to a local shop and said, 'i need a fin for my longboard,' and this is what they recommended
