Can you help? - Cleaning up our beaches and surf spots

This is a call for support and help for the Corona save the Beach campaign http://www.coronasavethebeach.org/. I'm a blogger http://dirtybeaches.wordpress.com/ and conservation activist, and I'm currently helping to drum up a bit of support and awareness for the project.

Along the same lines as adopt-a-beach, or surfers against sewage, Save the Beach are pledging to clean up and protect the worst of our coastlines (Europe and UK). The main aim is for people to send in photos and video evidence of beach pollution, litter or other debris. If anyone has come across bad beaches, or regularly surfs at a spot which needs a clean up, please find the time to send in your pictures.

I don't work for corona, but as is my 'specialist subject' I'm supporting their campaign as much as I can via my blog - i think it's pretty good for a multinational beer company to plough their (probably enormous) profits into a project like this instead of just raking it in for themselves. So, if you can help spread the word it's a worthwhile cause..

PS I try to surf too, but i'm rubbish, my favourite thing is get sucked under and almost drown, and generally flailing around pathetically in the water.. utmost respect for those who can though!

True - even if theyre doing it to sell more beer (and who am i to argue about drinking beer) it's still a good thing. I will see what I can do to help - i have some friends in scotland who say their beaches are terrible (im thinking trainspotting syringes here, plus the obligatory oily seabirds..) maybe they can send in some stuff to you

1 film, set in a Scottish city, with a few drug users = everyone in that country shoots up.

I assume your friends in Scotland are all junkies? We're all junkies here. It's not just the beaches that are covered in needles, childrens playgrounds, shopping centres, tops of mountains, my front room, primary schools. Yes we love our heroin and I'm really glad you're sharing your clever deduction with the interational forum, because it's true!!

I'm really sorry - that was just a joke (in bad taste i now see). I didnt mean to offend. Scotland has some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK.
