new board

Postby jmoody » Fri May 29, 2009 4:51 am

I'm 6'2" and 170. I've been surfing for a while and feel good on my 7' mini malibu. I'm looking at buying a quadfin shortboard with dimensions 6'4" X 19 X 2 3/8. Think it'll work for me? Is there enough volume?

I think so. Looks like a fun board too. If you are doing good on your 7 footer then go for it. Im not too sure though, might want to wait until someone else on this forum answers. But i think the wider dimensions will be ok. I moved from a 6'7'' to a 5'11'' .. only took abou 30 min to get used to it... but i am only 140 and 5'8''

I'm 200lbs, I went from an 8ft mall to a 7ft semigun, we aren't the same weight but just pointing out my steps.

That size is actually spot on for you, just not sure if you are ready for the transition ability-wise. If it turns out you can't handle her hold on to her then try her again after getting a size in between to help tansition.
