Having been in the pub with someone in the know, this afternoon, he says they are sitting on 2 metres already, looking at 3 by the end of the weekend, and they will definitely be opening early if possible. I'm booking a flight north :D

If it makes you feel better, right now I'm sat in the car watching perfect waves breaking, it's 7.45am, I've got a killer hangover, it's snowing and I left my wetsuit boots at home which is 3 hours away

Don't think I'm hard enough to paddle out without them.

Sorry real Pol....

I hiked the summit at Coronet Peak this afternoon - loaded with snow :D Lifts open in three weeks, should be a good start, and a lot easier than walking for an hour to get to the top.

Here's a couple of pics

This is the Remarkables, taken from Coronet Peak, you can just about make out the lifts up to Sugar Bowl - they aren't open for another 5 weeks.

And a couple of the mountains around Queenstown, taken from Coronet Peak

You know this Southern Hemisphere snow season I'm going to be more positive when the pair of you slap these pictures on here. I'm gonna start saying things like "awesome", "that looks wicked" and "you guys are sooo lucky, I've always wanted to visit New Zealand".

Seriously it may sound sarcastic, but believe me it will come from the heart!

Epic surf if you're a penguin with a toasty winter suit. IMO this time of year in Dunedin, you're better off going out drinking and chatting up some sexy students. The sea is cold enough to kill you quickly, and the waves in winter have got a lot of grunt, which makes the whole cold smashed into the bottom thing a lot colder than it needs to be.

The chocolate factory is worth a visit though.

Why not just hang a right at Ashburton and drive to Queenstown and go snowboarding 8)

Just take a warm coat - it's freezing down there.

What weekend are you there? I'm there at the end of May for a couple of days, and then the middle of June for a weekend for the All Blacks/Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys test.

So what's the deal with the ladies in NZ? Better off bringing my own? (neurotic, insane, yet cute, American girls)

You know I've been diagnosed as clinical schizophrenic, fortunately I chop and change personalities at the same time everyday. "Bob" goes to work every morning and earns the money and "Real Pol" lives it up at night watching freeview.

This is all normal to me.
