My trip -
Drove down four up in a Skoda.
Municipal camping was good (council camp sites) but they do close after the peak season.
Stayed walking distance from the ocean (Hossegor).
Bought food there.
Didn’t drink much beer.
Didn’t do much other than chat and have a good time.
Took our old faithful battered surfboards.

We did drive around so fuel did cost a bit.

You could try and hook up with others going down.
someone you know from this site ?

Or work at a place to stay there free ?

Hitch hike ? – not for me - I’d rather spend a little bit to be safe.

NOTE :
Some currents strong as hell – no chance against them.
Try not to surf hurricane surf – helicopters were pulling people out of the water during my trip ( I accidentally surfed Hossegor really big because it picked up as the hurricane swell came in  :D :? - made the Uk on a good day seem, well, effortless ! ).

Hope you can get down there - have a good one if you go, but it will always be there so don't bust a nut if you can’t do it this year. Save and go later !
