How long have you been surfing for?

I went on a surf camp last year and the year before. Last summer I bought my own board and wetsuit but haven't been out often enough. This mainly because I live about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the beach by car or 3 hours by train and gas is expensive when you don't have a surfing buddy for carpooling (have found one recently though). On top of that I live in Belgium so it's usually either flat or mushy chop with onshore winds. Conclusion is that I'm still crap of course but I do love the sport and hope to be surfing a lot during summer and then perhaps get a work-travel visa for one year of surfing, travelling and working Australia/NZ.
