My first Longboard - Cortez or NSP? Please help!

Postby lilsurfergirl » Sat Apr 04, 2009 9:34 pm

Hi there

I'm a 5ft 8, 60kg girl, who's still very much a beginner but knows she wants to be a longboarder! I've gone from riding a 9ft foamie to and 8ft foamie and I've recently had a go on an 8ft NSP board. I'm thinking of buying a 9ft 2 Cortez or a 9ft 2 NSP, but as a beginner can't work out what the difference is! What do you think would be better for me? Also is a 9ft 2 about the right size for me? I'm going to be surfing mainly on the south coast of the UK.

Any help would be gratefully recieved!

had a 8' Cortez mini-mal until I snapped it in half. Loved it. If I didn't have a a custom carpet made for me, I would have replaced with another Cortez.

I am a beginner too. Hope this helps.

I would go for a second hand NSP. It will hold it's value pretty well.
Seen people having problems with Cortez.

Why do you want a Longboard though? I have 3 so it's not like I'm anti it.
