aaaaaaah work experience i remember the days....

Ok I did mine 4 or 5 years ago now but at the time i wanted to be an archaeologist, i was still at home in Northumberland then so managed to get work experience with the county archaeologist. What was better is that i worked with the entire environment team which included 2 archaeologists, a historic buildings specialist, an ecologist and a marine biologist. It was pretty good cos inbetween the filing they took me out into the field to show me their work. Its pure coincedence that im now doing ecology/ marine ecology rather that archaeology what you want to do will change loads between now and A levels/uni/ real world! Do something that will either help you learn new skills or somethin you will enjoy. How bout askin round the local surf shops?

Surfboard shapers is a no-go im afraid, youve got the same idea as i had when it was my turn, its all down to the damn school and a load of health and safety crap which doesnt cover the school if you had an accident :? Which wasnt good.
I went to a local surfshop, and although in the depths of october, was still pretty rad! :D

Lallylagirl, good work experience!! 8)

Good Luck where ever you decide to go!

Just had a quick look at their site and it seems like its ideal 8) . So if you haven't filled in an application form yet why not? They look like they're gonna look after their employees really well and seem to specialise in young people on their first work experiences.
I did some lifeguarding when I was younger and it was excellent - outdoor pool in the summer, wicked tan, babes, cool fun people about, no stress. Now that is what work should be about :D . Then there are the more serious areas to get more involved in if you want like first aid, higher lifeguard qualifications, swimming coaching, more technical pool maintenance - sorting out pH levels of water, filter stuff, water pump stuff, etc.
