What's it all about?

Postby flyingvee » Sat Feb 07, 2009 1:28 pm

Sorry if this is a bit heavy, but following the passing away of my uncle, I attended a thanksgiving service to celebrate his life. It was a very dignified and joyful service (he was a devout christain) and it kind of made me wonder and think well, this really is just a short lease and we gotta make the most of it. Thank God for surf!!!!!

Yes I agree ... live life to it's full!
I kind of have that attitude with most things, I dont want to miss opitunities when they come along.
When I was snowboarding a couple of weeks ago a ski instructor (who's family had lived in the village for generations and was very well known) died in an avalanche. It was really very sad but the people who knew him said that he would have died a happy man by doing what he loved!

Yup, I hope everyone will see the true meaning of living, instead of trying to outdo one another with money, fame, and rank. We all just need to lighten up and have insight!

Sorry to hear about your uncle.
Guess we all have to make sure that when they are doing our eulogies they say "... and do you remember that day he came back from surfing and his head was like a flip top rubbish bin coz he was grinning so damn much".

sorry about your uncle. my uncle passed away about this time 2 years ago. definitely made me think about how little time we got, and how we just have to make the best of it. i guess that's why when people ask, 'why are you eeking out a living at the beach?' i can reply with a smile and say something to the idea of, 'why not?'

I'm not sure its really about anything to be honest.....just try to have as much fun as possible and not mess things up too much for other people.
