Ripcurl Suits

Postby samueladams » Wed Jan 07, 2009 2:36 pm

I hear a lot about the Ripcurl E/F Bombs being crap, but what are the fireskin suits like?

Cheers.

Well my e-bomb lasted 4 seasons of surfing and my f-bomb lasted 3 seasons of kitesurfing and both were toasty warm. Have just got a new f-bomb as the other 2 have finally died.
I also have a rip curl summer suit that has lasted well 2.
I know others won't have the same good words to say about rip curl but mine were good.

had my first ebomb replaced no problems....the new one is really good...not as warm as my gul 6/5/4 but more flexable. tbh i was impressed with the customer service when there was a problem.

I have a Rip Curl E-Bomb 4/3 and 3/2 and they're good, especially for the price I paid (90 euros each at the Rip Curl factory blowout). Not as well-sealed and solid as my 250 euro Body Glove Vapor, but the E-Bombs are warm and a bit thinner and stretchier. I don't like them as much if conditions get too warm because the stretchy material doesn't seem to breathe as much somehow, but they're nice when you need warmth.

I've got a 5/3 fireskin, well actually I don't, its back for repairs on a detaching chest panel after only 3 months usages (lets say 10-12 sessions). Still waiting for it come back (sent it back week before Christmas).
I have an ex-hire Tiki 5/3 on loan from the shop till it comes back and the fireskin is way warmer and also the tiki lets through too many cold flushes.
So the answer is fine when its working and a pain when its damaged.

i have the 3/2 fireskin and id say its amazing
the only time it lets in is if im not paying attention and get nailed with whitewater.and the only reason is cause i didnt have the neck sealed all the way so id say go for it.very flexible too
