Surfing in Adelaide, Australia

Postby saffasurfer7 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 3:34 pm

Hi,

I'm just wandering, I'm moving to Adelaide in April and have been surfing the UK for a few years so obviously have a 5mm wetsuit, boots gloves etc but does the water in South Aus get cold enough to need a wetsuit and if so what thickness? Ever need boots or gloves? I'm guessing the answer is no by checking the average sea temp already but thought some local advice would help.

I've sort of picked up on where the good spots are by checking some posts on here already but anyone wanting to comment feel free, I like smaller waves like between 2 & 4 feet is my comfort zone.

Thanks,
Mary

Of course it gets cold ! it faces into the Southern Ocean. Personally I think that's going to be the least of your worries :)
