Mexico really short notice..

I'm heading to Mexico tomorrow for the 1rst time. Can anybody tell me if I need to pack up a wetsuit??

What about the best locations for sure waves, small quiet places with less crowded breaks? Everybody tells me Puerto Escondido is the place to go but it seems really crowded, or too heavy for my 6'1 ? Would Baja California be a safer bet?
