Newquay Surfari?

Postby norfolksurferdude » Tue Dec 09, 2008 6:24 pm

Hey, going to Newquay this June with some mates after GCSEs and thinking about doing a little Surfari on one of the days. Im not expecting too find any secret spots of anything, just some advice. Being at the age of 16, we won't have a car, so would have to bus it or walk it. We're staying infront of Fistral which we know can get well crowded. If it was you, would you go North or South, where should we get a bus too etc. Any advice or info would be muchos sweet.
Cheers

I'm not sure Newquay can count as a surfari.... :?

If you're staying near fistral, without a car, you're gonna struggle. Especially as the buses often wont let you on with boards in summer.

South of fistral, a lot of the town beaches are closed to surfers over the summer, so you'd need to head out to Watergate, which is pretty nice.

I think you'll struggle to go North on the buses

Hitching is pretty easy around NQ, but hideously unreliable.

Some of the surf schools will pick you up in a van and take you to a break away from the crowds (well, away from the worst of the crowds). You might be better off arranging something like that.

Or, at 16, you could all buy mopeds
