i think i read somewhere about using kingspan insulation sheets for blanks,anyone got ideas about types of foam that could be used?

Typically those insulation EPS foam billets are only going to be 1lb which isn't recomended (unless you are making a compsand board). If you can get it in a minimum of 1.5lb or prefered 2lb then go for it. Either way it is a cheap way to teach yourself how to shape and glass boards.

Yea Gixer you can use em but as CH said you realy want to make sure it's 2lb or 2.5 lb foam. I strongly recomend it for just the shear aspect of shaping and glassing but you've allready done that a few times. You gonna venture into the cut and shape from a billit of foam now??

Not tried it myself but ive seen custom epoxy boards that have been shaped from eps. Ive allways imagined that it would break up into lots of eps balls when you try to shape it or that it would be so flexible when you put any pressure on it.

lol,it really was just a question for now,im a builder and there is often off cuts of insulation around......could have made a eco board,err sort of :lol:
