hey guys your right about one thing, i got wayyy to aggro on that last reply i made. so i apologize. when i wrote that i was just really really heated. i mean i stand by my points. but i should have articulated with less cussing and bad mouthing. my bad.

i just want to make something clear though. this is directed at parrysurf. those scenarios you made up, i am surf scenario A, dont mistake my anger in my last reply for not knowing how to approach localized spots. i surf steamers for christs sake haha. in my entire surfing career i have only become visibly mad and hostile towards another surfer ONCE. so just to put that out there. i am usually one of the chillest guys out in the lineup. meditating while i wait for waves.

and to pkbum, i know the perspective of a local. i am a local at my home beach break in san diego. but yes i understand i was too harsh.

Not everyone in California can have an IQ over 30.

To be given respect first you have to show it. Civvies have never understood the meaning of respect, they think it is a cool word dudes say
Or go surfing with Christians :D

Army term for civilian, i here a lot of kids going on about respect. Not to sure if they really understand what it means.

Everyone's idea of respect is different, just be polite and say hello. I was at my regular spot with my son on Sunday. A fella ( older surfer ) was sat a few feet from me and just staring at me with a very strange smile, made me feel i had something wrong with me. So i said alright there fella, he just turned around and paddled off. If you have something to say to someone say it, don`t act like a girl.

That is odd considering old men ussually just don't give a crap and tell it how it is. Younger guys ussually don't do anything unless they have a small army of other idiots around them. Either way it's stupid and the complete opposite of what surfing is suppose to be about.

But I do agree in that most people these days don't know what respect, honor or loyalty are. Kinda sad really.

Ive never had any real problems with any1 apart from one guy who changed his tune very quickly...but what I find funy is how some beacuse they are 'good', experienced, know the break, surf there all the time whatever..they think they can be aggressive to less competent surfers or 'outsiders'...but in the real world these guys who think they're high and mighty :tut: would get knocked the f**k out by alot of joe public!!!

LMAO gotta agree. i do hate it when people get in my way when i'm on a good wave but it happens. i try and surf at stupid times to avoid people but it's difficult in the winter with the dark morning and evenings.

hey if you aren't a kook you should be able to cut around the new surfer ;)
