Places in SoCal to Buy Stewart Longboards @ good prices??

Lost, this could be one of those things that can never really be found at huge discount. If so, then you simply will do well to find a good price. Some automobiles are like this. Examples: Corvette and Mini Cooper. Some motorcycles are like this. Example: Harley Davidson. Hope I'm wrong so you can save some good dosh.

I'm a big fan of these boards too. I have three at the moment.

I've never found them discounted by retailers. My first one I paid full price at a shop. The others I got he old fashion way.. wait for a good deal on a used one. Patience is required.

Not too sure on pricing and overall stock, but you should give ET Surf in Hermosa Beach a call. Make sure you go to their longboard shop. (It's right next to their main one.)

Second that b123 try E.T. surf in the log shop. As for discount try to ask for e few $$$ off and see if they'll swing some kind of deal. Most people I know including myself that has shoped there and abroad have swung a deal got some $$$ off of a few sticks and or made a win win deal ie I'll take the stick knock off 150. and I'll buy a leash pad wax and fins too.
Kinda a buy a stick and walk out with a full ready to surf package. But ask allot of the time they will knock off a few bucks.

Well.. I broke down and bought one. It was an ugly seafoam green color but the shape was pretty good. Very thin and very light, epoxy board. Duck dives really well, I was kinda shocked actually!

I took it out right after I got it. Was windy, but it was nice to be back on a board after a 7 year absence I'm really outta shape for the paddling and getting used to a wetsuit is a bit of a challenge. I was only in a spring suit (and freezing for the first 5 min), but man what a PITA paddleing is with a wetsuit!! Caught a bunch of waves, and tried to get aquainted with the board and surfing. The board rips! I can't wait till I shake off the rust because this board is FUN!!!

Glad to hear it. I know you're going to have fun with that board. I'm stoked for ya!

One caution is that Stewarts are on the light side. I've broken several of them. Be careful in big waves. And keep an eye out for stress cracks that start to appear perpendicular to the stringer.

Last time I brought a snapped Stewart in, my fixer guy gave me some advice: "If you're gonna go for a big wave, you better make it".

This one is extra light...And thin.. And narrow, a bad combination! I have always liked potato chip boards, but they come with one huge drawback. They snap very easily!

I won't be taking this board out in anything bigger than say 6 feet. I will need to get a short board and a mini gun to finish off my quiver. Its wierd how much progress has been made in the surfboard market. Perhaps the Clark foam debacle was a good thing???

Well, I have been out on it twice since my initial report. I went to Mission Jetty (I think thats what its called, the jetty south of wavehouse), and Sunset Cliffs today. This board did much better at sunset cliffs. I have had a few really nice floaters and it does not have the tendency some boards do of wanting to roll or flip (while on the lip). I still have not dialed in where the sweet spot is but it is very responsive. The great thing about this board is that it really duck dives well. When I was out today I noticed 2 othre longboardsrs had to ditch thir boards, while I just ducked under and continues on my way.

Like I have said before this board it really thin and narrow. I was luck to get one with dimensions like this board. It is NOT a beginner board being so thin. It will hit a lip with authority, that much I can tell already. Its been seven years and I still getting re-aquainted with being back out there, but the right equiptment sure does make it easier!!
