JS Paraletic Surfboards?

Postby Henry » Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:30 pm

As my local surfshop was closing tonight they had a delivery of new JS surfboards. In the bunch were some with black rails. These are aparently the New JS Paraletics. Has anyone else seen them about or even better ridden one? If there any good they look like they could be a big rival to Firewire what does anyone else think?

it's carbon fiber. it has been done before though. I doubt it will be a rival to firewire. i think the paraletics have been out for a while

Yer technically they are Parabolic rails but I think JS is calling them Paraletic. Surely JS would know what there doing tho. i.e. wouldn't put there name on rubbish. Has anyone seen them about in the UK tho? Just would be interested to know if there any good. Surely somethings gotta to be a rival to firewire by now.

just read up on them, i haven't seen any JS ones about but i've seen quite afew new matt adams boards with the carbon rails which i assume is the same or similar to the JS, these type of boards are still in the early stages so i'd wait a while til they're well established, refined, improved before buying one. i know they flex completely differently to a normal stringer and the parabolic rail stringers. apparently the carbon rails store more energy on turns etc and have a spring effect on the release. don't know nearly enough to give you a review on them though as i've only ever picked one up!

Hi, Seen them both in the UK. The Firewire Direct Drive and normal Firewire balsa rails look like a better product. Not sure if everyone else is just rattling out parabolic rails, without the research put in by Firewire!

Hayden (HS) is the king of the carbon rail. FiberFlex is what they are called and he does them for a host of the top shapers (Chilli, Lost, insight etc) go to fiberflexsurfboards.com and have a look.

He was testing a researching the process for years. I should know as I used to ride his boards until he spent to much time with the FiberFlex research and developement that he forgot about his own customers :unuts:

Yep Hayden is the creator of FiberFlex. I ride a few of his boards and they are sick! I also know Hayden and just showed him these comments.......as for him not spending time with his customers it is true. However he now has a full time employee dedicated to sales and they just got back from the USA where they were launching FiberFlex. He said they have a number of shapers coming on board the patented technology and for all you Europeans out there waiting on its arrival.....its coming!
