Do you remember that session?

Postby Sykes » Fri Oct 17, 2008 12:24 am

Do you remember, when you were just starting out, that session where everything seemed to come together, and you paddled out, picked your wave, caught it, rode it, paddled back out, picked your next wave, caught it, rode it, paddled back out, picked your wave, caught it, rode it....etc. until the sun went down?

That's the session I just had. Damn that felt good. 8)

The Stoke is strong with this one.

yeah, that happens a lot during the summer when it's smallish and clean. and i just take one of the 9' softtops that can catch a ripple from work. i can just catch waves left and right, cruise for a while on the wave, cross step around, maybe get to the nose. when it gets bigger i'm not as consistent. but within past few days i've really gotten both of my boards dialed on slightly bigger stuff. now we have a low pushing offshore and it's gonna be blowing hard onshore and sloppy for the weekend...monday has potential though

i have a lot of sessions like that. the best one recently was when it was glassy and hollow with just me and one friend out. we took whatever waves we wanted and had an epic session. another one was when i was on my fish. i was surfing really well that day. probably because my mate brought his hot housemate with him and she was learning in the shallows. i should surf with hot girls more often.

I don't remember the first one like that......I do have a mental portfolio of my favorite sessions. With one rising to the top...now and every time my mind goes over that day, I get a tingly feeling, and my minds eye is playing those perfect rides over and over in my brain. I will take that session to my grave. :D

This is the most soothing topic on this forum of all time :)

I love thinking back about those days. Where it's chill, the waves are fun, and people are having a blast. Warm sun and warm water, hanging out back not giving a rats ass about what wave you wanna take because there are plenty.
