Longboard Building

Postby thawkwood » Sun Oct 12, 2008 11:04 pm

Greetings,

Next year I'm planning to have a longboard shaped for me. I'm wondering what size I should go for. I'm about 5'7" and weigh about 160 lbs. I intend to make it a single glassed on fin for the 'classic longboard' look (being a soul surfer by nature I figured that'd be a good idea...).

What do you want out of it, a classic chunky mal?

I'm 5'8" and found my mates 9'6" 23wide cruiser to big to carry easily but it floats and glides nicely.

I'd say 9'2"-9'4" and reasonably chunky if you want an easy ride?

An easy ride and a good paddler is also what I'm looking for, especially if I encounter North Florida's nor'easters.

I know, I'm just perusing the board, before I figure out which shaper to go to...I've got over a year to figure that out....
