Postby caracas_surf » Fri Sep 26, 2008 7:51 am

Is it only me with the terrible obsession about having a surfer girlfriend?
how many of you guys out there are suffering from the same obsession? I have reached to the point where I dont want to hook up with non surfer girls, but its soooo difficult to find onehaha
just for fun want to hear your stories. Any lucky guy found his surfer girl?

Big mistake narrowing down the field to only include surfer girls. Just becasue she surfs doesn't mean shes the right one.

Plus if she's out surfing with you, who's going to be at home making your dinner for you when you return!

I think its fair enough, don't think i'd want to go out with someone who doesnt surf, trying to keep an open mind though so i wouldnt rule out non surfers as long as they were really into other water based sports or their jobs were completley marine based (marine biologst/oceanographer/diver or summat).....

Think they'd have to want to learn to surf though, and they'd have to pick it up quickly and be better than me in a fairly short time....

Hmmmm no wonder i'm single

My wife surfs and it's a bloody nightmare, she always makes me sit on the beach and look after the kids while she paddles out for a few.

Trust me, if you want a happy love life, select a partner on the size of their mammaries, future earning potential, and possibility of getting their hot mate into bed for a threesome. Surfing has got bugger all to do with it.

My wife doesn't surf, but she certainly appreciates the paddling muscles surfing is giving me.

Wife: $600.00 for a new surfboard!!!

me: *flex*

Wife: We can afford that

Be careful what you wish for ... I was pretty stoked that my then girlfriend was into video games. That wasn’t the reason why but we ultimately got married. Now she has beaten Assassins Creed three times (I haven’t even finished it once) and the battery on the controller always needs recharging.

I am currently teaching her how to surf ... but the standing rule is that she does not touch the Al Merricks.

Yeah.. i have this obssession as well. :x I dont rule out non-surfers.. but when I do find a girl that is as water-loving as myself, I'm 10 times as stoked about her..

I have some high school friends that ended up getting married.. and both him and her are surfers.. She always tells me about their anniversaries when they gear up, take a nice drive, camp out, and surf whole days.. Surf trip anniversaries?!? Where can I find a girl like that?

Yes as BoardedDave said, they are not easy to find, i am still trying to find one, but it seem that the few of them out there dont last too long, they are taken so quick.

I think you might be in the wrong place Libby, haha

I actually got betten by the surfing bug watching a docu on christmas day last year curled up with my lady. neither of us had tried it before but we both liked the idea.

now she is my surf buddy and partner, which rules.I have got to say there are a lot of practical benifits to, the eagerness to surf makes weekends to the sea an absolute pleasure.

njow I just have to wait and see what happens now its getting colder! I have dreams of a birthday surf on the 23rd of december will be interesting to see how that one flys

I learnt a long time ago that the chances of finding body boarding lady, let alone a up to standard surfing lady was very slim...

Glad i didn't get stuck in that mode cause I wouldn't have such great lady now! :)

pro....choosing vacation with your surfing wife........"do we want to go to Bali or Indo this holiday?" :)

con......someone has to watch the kids when the surf is ripping. ;(

My wife does not surf, so we have non surfing vacations with her and the kids, except a few RV trips to local surf/camp locations, and she lets me have my annual trip to surf Mexico with no kids, I let her go with the girls to Vegas.......trust and balance is our key to 20 years of bliss. Plus I told her up front that I was a surfer before we met, and that was the way the rest of my life would be.

She gets it.

I can imagine the divorce now:
