<- is going to see a happy end to the snowboarding season and continue on with moutainbiking which I startyed mid winter and is an ace laugh.

May also give kayaking and kitesurfing a go this summer.

You could always try SUP?

kayaking is fun. whitewater or touring. i do a lot of touring, because that's my job..and there's no whitewater on the coastal plain. it's relaxing and pretty cool to get out and see things you normally don't get to. kayak fishing is big here. i'm gonna try to do some more overnight trips over the winter. but this time of year is when the swell starts to pick up in size, so i'll be out surfing as much as i can handle the 'cold' water. i'm a little girl when it comes to cold

I'd have a fair few hour drive to get to any real whitewater I think. plenty of braided river esturary and coast.

We picked up a couple of SUP boards for flat days. As a shortboarder with somewhat of a big board phobia, I was resistant to the idea of stand up paddling but I really enjoy cruising around on the SUP board and surfing little ripples that would otherwise be considered unsurfable.

haha dont get World of Warcraft since it will waste a lot of your time and you may turn down a surfing session! :( I was addicted, but luckily I sold my account for some dough.[/quote]

skateboard......this has been the goto diversion for generations. If you are lucky enough your local city may have built a park. If not downhill and street riding has sufficed for us b4. Get a board and shred the world....I go to our local park 4+ times a week..even if we have waves. It keeps me from getting to fat, and my balance gets better all the time.
Don't say u r 2 old.
At 40yrs old I am still learning new skate tricks. Take it mellow to start the ground comes up quick!!

Learn to play the guitar, like IsaluteYou said. You'll need more than a dry spell to master that bloody thing, a year or ten is more like it... :)

Luckly for me, we have waves all year round. Ok, so we have the odd "flat spell" but thats the day that you fork out the mini-mal and have a blast catching all the small waves! Honestly seeing the jelousy on your mates face when you catch all the waves is truly memorable!

You only need two boards in your quiver: a shortboard and a longboard or get a mini-mal for the best of both worlds! :P

But if you cant afford two boards and there is a flat spell, then go fishing. Fishing is good on flat days. Or go mountain biking, you get the same rush screaming down a hill on a bicycle, and screaming down the line of an 8ft wall on your surfboard

Enjoy!
