Quicksilver Surfboards?

Postby LucasG » Sat Sep 20, 2008 1:35 am

Is there such a thing? I notice in most pro competitions all boards have the quicksilver right at the top. Are these just simple stickers as for sponsor or are they boards made by quicksilver? They all seem to be like fatty in the middle and pretty small, I quiet like the designs in general, they looks very interesting. Any ideas?

Haha I love Quicksilver's logo. I was just checking some videos and some surfboards even said "Al Merrick"... so yeah I guess I fail.

a guy i worked with 2 summers ago had an old quiksilver board. way too small for him, but it was a simple shortboard shape and fun. i'm not sure where he got it though

yeah ive seen a couple of second hand QS boards about. must be some old bits!? like twerked said, they tend to be pretty short and basic in shape. check out some some used surfboard stores you'll probably find one for a good price! no idea how they ride tho...

Yes. or there used to be. but maybe not.
i think quiksilver used to sell some boards?

but that is a sticker you are seeing on those boards you are asking about.
usually their top money maker on the nose.
those are not quiksilver surfboards, currently just a sticker.

looks like they are starting a "shaping program"
some Great shaper's going to be selling some boards under the quik label.

http://au.quiksilver.com/community/Shapers.aspx

Billabong sells boards also, since you are asking about those BIG names of the industry. some top shapers sell under the billabong
label also and those pro's already ride JS boards and Chili's ect. ect. , so those guys might be riding a "Billabong surfboard". with the lams on instead of having to sticker the board.

http://www.billabongsurfboards.com/

Technically they are just those shapers boards sold under a different label.
Unless they have some designs that only sell under the quiksilver and billabong labels i guess.

just another way for them to make money if you ask me.
