I was thinking about going to their workshop in Hunnigton beach. Does anyone know anything about this group?

They are also based in Bournemouth England, a good group, putting on music shows, group surf trips etc. All in the name of Jesus. Something good in this unGodly world.

yeah, there's a pretty big christian surfer community here on the outer banks. noah snyder runs different camps, events, and stuff from time to time. and then lynn shell, the shaper for outer banks boarding company, is apparently the head of the christian surfer chapter here. they're all cool people, and none of them, that i've seen, are the preachy christians that talk down on you for not believing in jebus

Most Born again Christians won`t push Jesus onto you. If you show an interest then we would answer any questions you have. The religious types will though. God bless you all and may the waves rise up to meet you :)

^i don't know man, i've met my share of preachy, born-again christians. it may have been where i grew up though. it just gets annoying, as a quote i once heard goes, 'itsn't it strange that people that want to share their religion with you never want you to share your's with them?' but yes, i'd agree with you, about 90% of them are cool. i personally am not christian, but cheers to those who are. i can understand why you want to be, and i tried for a while, but it's just not my cup of tea. surfing is my religion...or the 'aquatic nature religion' or whatever they decided to call it

A pretty big group down here too in southern North Carolina. As most have said here a pretty good group.

twerked, I know exactly what you are talking about mouthy "born again Christians". I have never seen nor heard about that with Christians Surfers. They seem ok.

Don`t know about cool, but not far from the truth  Have you watched
the Matrix, the guy who made that is a Christian and that is supposed to be his interpretation of hell. Each to his own, but when you step outside of the small shell like world we all live in. You begin to look at the bigger picture. All said and done, each to his own ending

I've got to agree with Twerked on this one. I've only met pushy born-again christians. Ones who are desperate for you to join them. Usually the christians who are brought up believing have no issues with non believers.

Again this is just my experience.

I'm a Roman Catholic, and I don't preach to anyone. In fact most of the people I surf with don't believe in God, but I don't preach to them. I have always hated when people have tried to preach and evangelise to me, so I will never do that to anyone else. I'm thinking about seeing what this Christian Surfers UK is all about, but am a bit unsure too because I don't want to be pressured into handing out leaflets on a busy street corner on Saturday morning... probably because I'm either on my way to the beach or nursing a hangover, but also because it annoys the crap out of me when I'm walking somewhere and there's somebody getting in my way handing me something that I won't even bother to read. So if it's a group of people who surf who also happen to be Christians (or vice versa) I'm willing to give it a shot, but if it's a load of hardcore preachers who also surf, I'm most definitely not interested.
