Board a little heavy?

I have a beautiful Kane Garden 7' Fish, I love the board, the only thing is she's gotten heavy on me, I know i got water in it, I dinged her up on many occasions, but therin lies my question, is it too late, lost cause or is there a way to lighten 'em up after it gets heavy?

P.S.-I know it's a stupid question, but any glimmer of hope would be good, i love this damn board but it's a freakin' sled now!

Leave it out of the water for the rest of the year then get it fixed in the spring. If you loved the board so much why did you let it get so trashed?

^ that sums it up....dry dock her for 3 months...then fix her and she should be good as new....almost.

Sucks to love a board so much that you surf it when it is damaged.....tough love.

Best to have spare that you like so when you get a ding you can fix while u ride ur other stick.

Ok, so here's some pics of the board, I haven't rode it at all this year, I've been riding either one of my other two boards, so it's had plenty of time to dry, I used a hairdryer and aimed it into the ding which was bad, I can see foam! I love the board, but that doesn't mean that I'm not gonna beat the hell outta her, I love this board for days when there's big shorebreak, I've caught some ridiculously kick-ass rides in overhead shorebreak and she rode so smooth. I worked on it yesterday, stripped the wax, i was amazed at how much weight dropped off it, damn i had a lot wax on it, and i used fiberglass mesh and resin to seal up the crack. There are a lot of spidercracks on the bottom up near the nose, but I'm not too too worried about them. I don't see any brown spots, so I guess the water didn't saturate the foam inside. I'll post pics of my repair job when I'm done.

shorten up your leash tether. that's what's causing the crack and dings between the swallowtail. as you can see in the last picture, the string is right in the middle, and if you fall off and the board is caught up the wrong way it's going to gash into the board. shorten the string and tie it so that there's just enough room to get your leash through. there should be webbing where it ties to the string, so that when it does rub against the board the pressure is more evenly distributed and won't gash up the board

Koki, yeah not much you can do with the stress cracks across the nose. Not a problem, but that is where your board has flexed to its limit. I have noticed this more on my gloss coat boards, i think it is the finish resin cracking.
Just seal your holes up and sand her smooth, she will be good as new!!

Koki you hanging some doors in your house?? looks like a fun sized board about 6'8" ?? unless that is an 8' door.

lol...yeah I am hangin' new doors in my house...nice doors, huh?!...as for the board it's a 7'. I put my last coat of resin on it yesterday, just got to sand 'er smooth and she'll be good as new, and it definitely is a fun board, I haven't rode it since last year, I think i need to take it out this weekend and show her some love. Thanks for your info. I am less concerned about those stress cracks, so that's a good thing, right?

And twerked you are right on, i couldn't figure out for the longest time why it kept gettin' torn up in the swallowtail and that is it, man. Thanks.

Um did you make sure it was TOTALY DRY????? cause if ya sealed it up with water in there well um it's gonna be a gonner!!! If it was as water loged as you were putting it then it needs more than just a couple of days to dry out. You can allso stick a piece of old stomp pad at the inside of the fish V It'll help with the leash thrash.

nah, it's good, it sat for a year, I patched it up and took it out this weekend and had a lot of fun on it, she's as good as new!
