? about foot placement on epoxy board

Postby Koki Barrels » Wed Sep 10, 2008 12:44 am

So i was riding my tuf-lite this weekend, on some beautiful head high sets...thank god...a couple times it felt like the board was just all over the place...I was wondering if anybody knows if you need to place your back foot further back on epoxy boards to gain more control...any help would be great. thanks.

More likely to be the shape of the board, and that your foot placement is simply too far forward. Nothing to do with it being epoxy, other than the board might be smaller than you're used to so being 'slightly wrong' will be 'very wrong'.

cool..thanks...i think it's just a matter of getting used to riding a shortboard, this is my first one and I'm not sure if it's because it's an epoxy board that she feels like she's all over the place or if it would be different if i had have bought a glass board.

it's probably the transition from a longboard to a shortboard. shortboards are a lot more responsive, so it takes a little time to get used to it. the only thing bad i've heard about epoxy is when it gets choppy it's hell. but i don't know from personal experience, that's just what i've heard

yeah, i have heard people saying that, too...and i think it has a lot do with the fact that I've only really been out with the board for three sessions, just bought a traction pad and gettin' ready to slap that baby on. Oh Yeah!
