Polypro vests - do they really work?

Postby greypump » Sat Sep 06, 2008 6:12 pm

Hi - is a polypro vest worth investing in for the winter? I'm a bit torn between a polypro and the very thin neoprene shirts. I can imagine the polypro will feel alot nicer to wear but will I really notice more warmth in the freezing months?

I found my old rash vest - I don't know if it was polypropylene – would suddenly start making me very cold after a time in the water in winter.

I felt I was better off with nothing on under my wetsuit until I wore a Helly Hansen thermal which seemed to work much much better.

I used to stay in for a stupid long time though, so you may not get that cold.
