Taking your board?

Postby LucasG » Sun Aug 31, 2008 6:25 pm

So... Ending September start of October my dad and I will be going to Costa Rica. Jaco or Playa Hermosa. We've been once to Jaco but not exactly for surfing (it was though the first time I tried to surf and got wiped out nicely). So, my question is... How reliable is it to take your own board on an airplane? I wanted to take my Flyer 6'6" or do you think I should simply rent one out there?

For me it's a cost issue. I've done it both ways.

If I can rent a comparable board for the same price, for the duration of my stay, why hassle dragging my board around and chance damage from baggage attendants etc..

Some airlines don't transport boards.
