El Porto is further north.. past Manhattan.. up little south of Dockweiler I believe is the next listed beach north. Near the refinery place that is up out there..

My work is right up the street from El Porto.. I used to pop down there after work and watch people in the water. It's also a really nice ride for anyone with a bike.. hit the strand down in PV and just ride north until you hit El Porto.. hang out for a bit, watch some surf, rest up, then ride back. Lots of fun.

haha.. cause it was back when I didn't have my rack on my car and whenever I left my board in my car all day long at work, it would bake in the sun and melt all my wax.. So I stopped taking it with me unless I was actually going to the beach.

Yeah dude you wanna avoid leaving the board in the car. The wax you can clean up easy enough. But I've read the heat just kills the board and makes it "40% less effective."

Yeah I think I read an article back in the day on Surfline Forums that was talking about how it ruins boards faster being baked like that in cars all the time. :x That's what got me to stop taking my board unless I was actually going right to the beach..

You need good waves in order to do it is my thoughts.. waves in which you are riding on the face and can control yourself enough to go from top, turn down, bottom turn, then head back up.. and rinse and repeat. Then you can learn to snap. :D

Or at least be able to drop to the bottom then bottom turn and head up to the snap. So far.. the waves I've seen of yours tend to crash out before you have a chance to bottom turn and head up.

From what I've learned.. the greatness of your snap at top is directly proportional to the power you get on the bottom turn.. when you have wave to work with and you get a good bottom turn.. you'll have the speed and power to turn quick at the top. If you have no bottom turn, you may not have the momentum to be able to snap. :x

hahah. Well turn it into a positive drive. Everything is mental. If you think you'll never achieve it.. you probably won't make it. Watch what they do.. and picture it in your head. Then when you fall on your face instead of hitting the lip.. laugh it off and try again. hahah Keep the spirits up and you'll have SO much more fun! hahh.

I fall so many times.. Many times I come up from under the waves laughing. Just gotta use it as energy to try it again. keep working it. Your videos are good stuff. You are getting it.. just keep working at it! One of these days we'll get a nice directional swell that gives you some good lines. When the conditions are right, you'll be catching and riding waves going, "wow.. here I was falling yesterday, but today im rockin it!"

haha yeah.. my walls are plastered with them . I have this weird spiritual love for the ocean though, so most of my pictures I choose to put up are because of the wave they are on.. haha. Idk though, I find the more and more surfing I see around me.. the more and more I enjoy doing it. So I like to keep my stoke going all throughout the week with pictures, films, posters, all that jazz so that Im all hyped up for surf on the weekends when I can do it. :D
