Or you can run a 2x4 horizontally and then drill holes the same size as a dowel and put the dowels in the hole and screw them in. I made a board rack for 15 in probably 30 minutes with one 2x4 and some dowels wrapped in pipe foam someone had given to me.

The original poster went back and put :?: for all of the information???

I made my own like the ones phaseonesurf shows. Get a couple 3"-4" screws/bolts, screw them an inch into the wall (into a stud, of course) a few feet apart. Then get PVC pipe (like for plumbing or running electrical wire) cut to 2 foot lengths and slide them over the exposed part of the screw.

You can put foam pipe insulation over the PVC for cushioning.

I have four boards store din my garage that way on the wall, one right above the other.

Probably $10 for all the materials. Beats paying $50 or more for 'real' surfboard racks.

I use hooks and rope on the celing of my garage, just have to use a stud finder to secure them tightly. Guess you could do it indoors too:

You mean you guys don't sleep with your board in bed with you? I like to snuggle up to mine and smell the wax whilst gently caressing her fins!!

I've just moved, so board is in bag in garage. Normally hung up on the wall using roofrack straps and hooks.

I keep mine in the bage in the garage. Just make sure you rinse all the salt water off the board and bag if it's gonna be in storage for a while. Otherwise the salt can crystalise in the zip and bugger up the bag.
