Surf Camping in So Cal?

Postby Lomax » Fri Aug 08, 2008 9:47 pm

Hey guys,

Any advice for surf camping this summer? Looking forward to hitting up some great campgrounds in socal with friends, stay the weekend and hit some fun waves and of course great bbq. Tips on locations? Which campsites are the most surfer-friendly? Which ones do you not recommend? The only one I've been to was Leo Carrillo, which seems like a decent enough spot, but that was years ago, before I got into surfing.

Thoughts?

san clemente state beach-you can walk to trestles, fun place to camp...Jalama is awesome, can get really good on a south swell, and a beautiful place to camp. Anywhere in santa barbara is nice but there won't be any surf during the summer.
