looking for advice on buying a CI flyer

Postby Rizzzer » Thu Dec 16, 2004 1:46 pm

well i think its getting time to get a new board. im 5'10 176lbs (80kg) and have been riding my first ever board, a 6'6 used custom, for 6 months. i can now pull off the basics fairly easily like bottom turns, cutbacks, starting to pull off the odd floater. i want to start shortening my board and learn to do some quicker and more advanced manouvers but i feel the length of my board is holding me back a bit. for example sometimes i get my back foot too far foreward so i cant make those powerful cuts, or my back foot is where its sposed to be but i miss the sweet spot in the middle of my board with my front foot and i feel like i cant pump and gain speed as much as i could. anyone have the same problem? im looking at a CI flyer as i hear lots of mates i surf with and people on here rave about them, and it sounds like they fit the waves i surf perfectly. im just wondering what size flyer i should try or how short i could/should go based on what i said about my current board.

Go into the swaylocks website, there has been several threads on the flyers, they sound like fun, I don't know anybody with one myself, but second-hand I hear many good things about them.
