Surfing Mexico in august - beginner

Postby beble » Tue Jul 29, 2008 3:10 am

Hi:

Any advice for a beginner going to Mexico? I'm a beginner, I did a surf camp last year in Portugal and been surfing a few days in Costa Rica. I will be in Mexico end of august, it appears that Puerto Escondido is great - except for beginners.

I find lots of references to Sayulita - anyone been there? Puerta Vallarta?

Also, Mazatlan - but I can't trust mexicosurfshop.com, too much about how great they are and how everyone else suck bad.

For Sayulita, from Mexico DF, which is the better connection: Guadalajara or Puerta Vallarta? Or some third destination?

Thanks

Hi,

Waves in Sayulita are pretty good for a intermidate surfer, somewhere around 4 feet. <advertising removed. SP>

Hope you'll have a nice holiday,
Kar

Thanks, but they are closed till October. I have heard that some surfcamps in Sayulita close because the waves are messy these months. Anyone been there in August?

Other places good for beginners that I may have missed? Baja, Yocatan?

Thanks, Erik
