Gwithian / St. Ives

Postby Kabazz » Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:31 pm

Hey, I'm heading to st.ives/gwithian area tomorrow on holiday and hoping for a surf. Any have any info about the breaks?

I'm guessing gwithian should be bigger as it's more westerly facing, however the wind may be offshore at porthmeor when gwithians wind is more cross/onshore, but does it have to be a longer peroid swell for porthmeor to work?

I'm also planning hire a board as no room in the car for mine but im guessing that fine as there should be surf shops.

Any info would be really helpfull, cheers!

Godrevey is pretty good. National trust car park. Dunno about surf shops. You could always pop up the road to Porthtowan (early or late best) deffo surf shops to hire stuff from there.
