Postby TReMoR » Sat Jul 26, 2008 6:01 pm

I have no idea what i steped on in the water but it was extremely sharp and left a gash in my little toe alll the way across about a millimeter deep. uhh.. so when i kind of part the cut i can see that there is a little bit of sand inside the cut. I dont know how to take it out.. I rinsed it with water and isopryl alchohol. willl it be a problem?

If the sand remains, soak the foot in warm salted water two times per day to get it out. Other option is to douse with hydrogen peroxide in the hope that the foaming action lifts the sand out. This option will sting ALOT! I'd soak as initially suggested.

I had a gash in bottom of my foot heal up once with some sand and piece of barnicle in it. A year or two later, a surgeon had to cut my foot open to remove this stuff because it was interfereing with walking. Even with anesthesia, that hurt!
