Surfing Gold Coast

Postby corollasurfbrah » Thu Jul 24, 2008 9:16 pm

Alright, here's the deal. I'm going to be studying abroad from september to december at Bond University that is right on the Gold Coast in Austalia. I have minimal surfing experience but have lived at the beach the past two summers and can pop up and ride the line just fine. I have been riding at 7'2" fun board but wanted to maybe move to something just a little bit smaller like a 7'0" or maybe even a 6'8" but I really don't know. I'm about 5'10" or so and 160 lbs. My question is if anyone from that area is on here and what suggestions they would have for a board to get when I get there since I don't want to pay for flying anything and any other essentials related to surf or anything else in general that I will need. Thanks for any suggestions
