Depends on a lot of factors. How much water I have, how tired I get, how good the waves are, if it is going to lightning, how far away from home I am.

Typically 2-3 hours on a good surf day.

As lame as it sounds, my norm is 45 minutes to 1 hour. Again on several factors. Usually its either because the water is cold and I need a better wetsuit and 45 minutes is all I can tolerate. Other times the waves where I surf only hold for very short stints of time before the conditions become either flat or blown out so usually I sit around for 15-20 minutes before I get bored or frustrated then paddle in. If I had perfect conditions....I'd probably be fine for 2+ hrs. but that has been very rare. Priority 1 for me is to get a better/warmer wetsuit.

Many factors, but on average 2-3 hours is standard.
