Hi again Kiwi!!

Try flying to Singapore. They have the most complete airlines selections. Try flying Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, or for cheaper flights, Qatar airways maybe? Not sure on this last one. KLM and Malaysian airlines fly to Asia too with complete connection flight to Singapore, Malaysia or Indonesia, even Thailand. If Thai ariways fly to Germany, it's another good cheap option too. Good luck!!

Go to www.airasia.com or go to www.lion.co.id I know you have to pay for each luggage you bring if you fly air asia, but I don't know their rules on surf boards. With lion air, you can bring up to 2 luggages for free, but check again, because they may have different rules for surfboards.
