What tattoos do you guys have/ want? Anyone not like them?

Postby libby » Mon Nov 29, 2004 9:18 am

Hey just curious cos i have just booked my second tattoo. I have a swirly sun thing at the top of my back, its black and a very simple design but quite big. I love it! Have just booked to have a tiny little tattoo on the inside of my wrist, this ones just for me and will be covered by bracelets most of the time. Its gonna be a tiny little orca whale cos ive always been obsessed with them and im hoping to work studying whales as a career. What do you guys think of them generally, did yours hurt when you had them done? mine did!

Any of the younger ones planning them for when their a bit older?

Just nosy, dont mind me!

Heh I got one :D Not many people know this cause its usually coverd up!

Only ever wanted one and its on my Left leg... drew it myself to get the size and spacing right. Goes up to the knee and down the ankle

Yep It killed! took just over an hour and when it was going over bone it was vibratin all the way up my leg and spine. In the end I got the giggles and just laughed all the time! Its almost a year and a half since I did it.

ooh good subject :D

one of my favourite painfull hobbys !!

i have from elbow up on both arms and over shoulders , nice sleeving in island plant tribal  ...and on my back a big dragon who looks out for me   ( goes back to me kickboxing years 8) ) ...and theres more to come ...im not going for too much coverage cause im not a total ink' nut but all my tats' link together to show what makes me , me ! !
plus tatoos used to help put off the competition when fighting .... as tesco says ..." ..every little helps " !!!!!

Nice work there papa' ... see thats how i like my ink' ... plenty of spacing not too bold , that way from a distance it looks like some kinda weird camoflage !! ..same as my arms :) ... nice 1

Hey phil

...yeh can be a tough one to decide what to put on yer skin , so its good you are looking for a design you really like .. " cause cover ups' hurt like hell  so its important you really really want it' on yer body !!

dont ever ask an actual tattoo'ist cause they will reccommend some easy to do' , wack fashion tat' :x ..either sit there like papa' and come up with something for yourself , which i think is the coolest :D or find something that really fits want you want it to show or mean to yourself and others ...

i can kinda waffle on this for too long .. i did a bit of research about tatoo's when i was kickboxing , " LOL " ..i didnt want to end up in a boxing ring in china and be shot at by gangsters if my inks' said the wrong thing !!!   .

If your going for shoulder and upper arm , i've seen some wicked , " i think there called shoulder sheilds' , like armour that ancient japanese warriors used to wear .....pretty cool :D ...

" i tell ya something my man , i've not seen one nice surfing tat' yet on the beach' ..... " too many fashion gaelic arm bands and swirly swirls that mean nuttin ... " So a nice surfing tat would be superduper cool ! ... you could have like a wave breaking from the top of your shoulder at an angle dwon over to your arm with a dude popping up from it ... wouldnt take up too much space ( or pain ! ) if you knew a good artist or goodenuff  .. hmm given me an idea for my lower back !! .. niceone :D

Yeh 4 defo, he he he my ex liked my tattoo  drunk old men in pubs always trace the spiral in the middle with their fingers which is a bit disturbing tho :? loads of others i want but gonna have 2control myself cos dont wanna be completely covered! My bros got a cool one on his back and all down his spine. Might get a mauri design on lower back when in New Zealand but will have to find sumthin that will go with the one on my upper back. Mine took bout 45mins and got shooting pains down arms, especially in my elbows. have severely dodgy back that crunches anyway so tattoo very painful over spine!

Anyone else wanna share? :)

I have a big tattoo of a wave breaking on my right shoulder - was a birthday pressie from my best mate several years back. I love it.

oh - I also have a tequila worm wearing a stetson and sunglasses smoking a cigar tattooed on my arse too. Goes back to an afternoon of too much tequila many many years ago!

" Hey Libby :)

.... hehehe , yeh i kinda get that ...but thankfully not from drunken guys otherwise i'd be really really worried !!! . My dragon starts at neck and goes down to small of my back , and was done using special ink that kinda raises off the skin a lil' , so people like to touch my back to see if its real ... " most the time i freak that an uninvited hand is probing my back    ...but yeh mostly drunk peeps do that !!!!!.

Yeh go for mauri design , my arms are a mauri leaf and sheild design

Wow ive never heard of that ink before, did u get that done in england or abroad?? Your tattoos sound amazing, would love to do the same but not quite sure girls can pull off quite so many tats without lookin REALLY scary when older. Also thinkin of havin one on my calf that extends down onto the whole of my foot, somethin that combines loads of the things i love, will have to see if any of my more artistic friends can draw me up any designs although im not in any rush, their so damn expensive! got any pics cheezee? im gonna try and take a photo of my tat with my phone, will have 2 wait till one of my flat mates gets back tho cos dont reckon im flexible enough photograph my own back

hey libby :D

.... yeh the ink was from a US' company my friend was trying out ( he runs the local ink parlour in town  ) ... all my tat's done at his place .. lol' i was kinda one of my friends first guinea pigs when he started !! ... 2x very painfull coverup's were his first attempt , which ended up needing going over three times each  " oww " and because he was learning he had the needles set way way too deep ! ...nearly killed me !!! hehehe

" yeh my inks look pretty funky 8) ..sleeved but not solid' so's you can see plenty of skin thru them , doesnt look so 'biker' . But your right , for girls you gotta choose more carefully then us ..cause of the danger of looking like you just came out of an episode of ' Bad Girls ' .

" i like your idea of having calf to foot done ... i've seen a few girls with really nice designs on calfs of leg and i dont think it looks too much .. depending on design ... kinda make a girl look 'ruffneck' 8) ... " pretty " ..but ruffneck pretty 8) :D .
If you do find something (willing artists are hard to find ! ) ..but if you do and your worried about the cost let me know ...if its something you really really want but its too much moneys , i kinda get 75% discount on my work ..i would be happy to let ya borrow my discount for a couple of days :D  .
" yeh no worries , i'll get a couple of piccys taken :D .. lol' ..yeh same problem , hard to take a photo of yer own back :? ... i could ask a customer when someone comes in but think most will have a strange look on their face if i ask them to take a piccy while i stand half naked at the counter

... goodstuff libby 8) ... hope yer day is going as lazy as mine  8)

Wow thanks Mr Cheezemeister that is v. cool of you! Change of plan with the Orca though, have found (well, my bro has found) such a nice design that i want it bigger, probs lower back. Have cancelled appointemet as need to save up the difference. Do you have a sort of loyalty card at the tattooist? Man that would be cool (but dangerous). Honey im just popping into town to get some groceries... and a tattoo

I dont like them. I dont find them attractive at all, and it ruins the skin. I understand why people like them but... Its kind of like one of the emo kids cutting themself, only your not doing it to hurt yourself.

I have a fire symbol surrounded by my own design on my back. And soon as I've got the cash I'm going to get my parent's initials tattood on my inner biceps. One on each arm.

Hey

well i already have one tattoo, the one of the sun at the top of my back.

As for getting another one done, i couldnt decide on the design so im gonna wait till i get to New Zealand and see if theres one that i REALLY want over there.

If your in Newcastle, thats where i got mine done! Hype tattoos on High Bridge. Really proffessional and a good laugh too

good luck!
