So remember all those lovely photos of blue skies, blue water, big clean swell...? Well, look at what we've got now...

Image

Four days (so far) of pouring rain, howling gales, blown out storm surf... :bang:

Oh well, water is still 20C

Storm still blowing!

Waves have been huge the last 24 hours or so. if the wind drops and it gets cleaner there'll be tow-in potential

Im gonna be having a cup of tea and watching from my balcony...

If it does happen (I think the wind is gonna stay too strong) I'll try and get some photos 8)

That photo does look nice - almost makes me miss blighty!
But only almost

3.2m @ 14 seconds with light offshore winds forecast for tomorrow at Magnet and North of Motunau Island tomorrow.

Shame about the snow that will come with it, and that I've got to spend most of Saturday at High School Musical on ice!

how can you say that? I was in Newport Beach about a week or so ago and could not believe how warm the water was.. also could not believe that so many surfers were in the water wearing wetsuits.. i guess my water up here at a usual 50F degrees or less make me appreciate your "cold" waters haha.
