My new one

Postby Rico » Sat Apr 26, 2008 10:22 am

Heya,

I just bought a new candy for the smallish atlantic summer days.

6'6''
19 3/4
2 1/2

Image

was looking for something maneuverable but still good buoyancy.
It was sold as a shortboard but it's obvious that the wider nose throws it on the evolution/hybrid shaped side. Has anyone experienced this kind of shape? Did you enjoy riding? Anything special about handling?

can't wait

Regards from Europe

6'6" will still have good short board charicteristics and with the nose area be able to be ridden up front more, to get you thru fat sections, should be a good paddler as well.

i've got a board almost identcile to it, just has a rounded pin/thumbtail.
i learnt to surf on it and dude let me just tell you they ride so sweet, smooth, pick up fast, turn well, paddle quick. perfect for those small glassy summer days. rode mine in head high conditions a couple times, was good just a bit slow on the turns as it was a bit big. enjoy

i have a similar board to that but 6'8 which is a good board. i can cruise it if i want or chuck it around a bit when i want to. really easy to paddle into waves on.

It sucks so much without damn ocean  and I have to wait nearly 3 months for my next trip.. 4 weeks..

If you're lucky enough to be located near even the lousiest wave, feel my envy

no, I've been there once but it's too far away.

I spend my time paddling the lakes during summertime, only 4 weeks of real surfing this year, but I'll go to Oz after school whoooo :D
