Rash vest problem

Postby seanydee » Tue Apr 22, 2008 9:11 pm

I bought a Rip Curl thermal rashie at the weekend ( I know, I'm a pussy!) and, ironically, it gave me a rash around my neck. I guess it was from where the neck of the vest rubbed my skin when I was looking around as I paddled for waves.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and have you found a solution (other than scrapping the vest!). I thought maybe using vaseline or rolling the neck down.

Cheers

Was tyhe rashie neck right up ... cause somtimes they slip down and your wettie rubs.

That and/or as its a new material your neck skin might not be use to it.

Been using the same thermal rashie for a fair few years now and still the odd session i get little irritation. usually for me its if I go surfing the day I've had a shave..

The neck was up and I've never had a problem with the wettie I was wearing. I hadn't shaved that day so the skin wasn't sensitive.
I think it may be the material as I got rashes around the adams apple area and around a scar that I have on the back of my neck.

I get the same thing on the right side of my neck from my new wetty. Doesn't always happen and it is minor irritation so....
Just one of those things I guess.

I get that too. I think vaseline might help.
