yeah, it works. I saw it. It opened up automatically in windows media player.

Can't really comment on the pop-up too much cos not yet a very experienced surfer but the only thing I could think was if you're fully suited up with boots and 5mm suit it would be difficult to get your foot in the right position in time. Think the original method just gives you a quicker way of getting to your feet.

What does everyone else think?

i think it would work ona mellow wave on a long board but not on a shortboard because you dont have as much time to think on a short do you unless you are an expierianced surfer

Thanks for that, I saw it fine on Windows med player. It might be especially useful for surfers w/any number of physical problems. I appreciate it! :D

I made that vid clip to help some people who were asking me for specifics on popping up on a shortboard. On a shortboard where your feet hang well past the tail, it's pretty logical to stand this way. Otherwise you'd have to use your knees to get to your feet (not good)

i think it depends on how fast and strong the waves r coming, coz if they r coming fast then u'll prob need 2 do the normal jump 2 feet pop-up, but if ur just having a 'lazy kinda surf' and the waves r sorta slow and graceful and u dont really feel like doing any hardcore surfing, then i spose u could try the pop-up showed in the film.

If you can do it quickly enough, should work. I'd be concerned about the split seconds lost/the drag caused by the knee bending in the water.
